Here is a complete list of NFL cuts, as teams reduced their rosters to 65 players. Teams must reduce their rosters to 53 players by September 3rd. The list was compiled by NFL.com.

EAGLES SIGN FORMER REDSKIN WR

The Philadelphia Eagles in an attempt to bolster their WR unit have signed former Redskin WR Darnerian McCants.McCants is a 5 year veteran whose best season came in '03 when he pulled in 27 receptions of which 6 were for TD's.For his career McCants has 53 receptions for 687 yards and 8 Td's while averaging 13 yards a reception.

WARRICK FINDS A NEW HOME

As has been reported all day at TCFS Peter Warrick's whirlwind day has finally landed him in Seattle. At worst Warrick will be the teams 3rd receiver pressing Bobby Engram for playing time.

Texans Release Miller

Billy Miller TE Houston was cut by the Texans. Houston has decided to use the TE position primarily as a blocker.

Betts Improving But Not Enough

Ladell Betts RB Washington is walking better but is still not able to practice. Betts is suffering from a swollen left ankle, according to the Washington Post

BEARS MAY LOOK TO ADD ANOTHER QB

The Chicago Bears will wait until after the teams final pre-season game to better evaluate the teams 2 backup QBs,Kurt Kittner and Jeff Blake, but the team is expressing some interest in former NEP Rohan Davey.

Breaking News - Teams Lining Up To Sign Peter Warrick

The list of teams interested in signing WR Peter Warrick is growing, and includes the following:

Seattle, Tampa Bay, New York Giants, Indianapolis, Green Bay and New England.

Starting RB Named For Browns Preseason Finale

The Browns announced that RB William Green will be the starting RB for the team's final preseason game. It is still unknown who will be the team's reguler starting running bcak, leading to speculation towards the most fearful letters for a fantasy owner, RBBC.

WR Galloway Possibly To Return Punts

WR Joey Galloway is reported to be the Bucs Punt Returner. This could possibly of special note to fantasy owners whose leagues offer points to defensive players like punt returners, as well as points for wide receivers at the same time.

Writing On The Wall For WR Morgan

WR Quincy Morgan could have played his last game in Dalls, especially if WR Peerless Price signs with the team. Morgan is currently #4 on the team's WR depth chart, and the signing of price would certainly leave Morgan without a job.

STEELERS WRs FALL INTO PLACE

The Pittsburgh Steelers have announced that Antwaan Randle-El has beaten out Cedric Wilson for the teams #2 WR opposite Hines Ward

PRICE TO VISIT COWBOYS

Recently released Atlanta Falcon WR Peerless Price is scheduled to visit the Cowboys on Wednesday. This is an interesting move and possible home for Price since he enjoyed his best season as a pro in Buffalo with Drew Bledsoe as his QB.

Just in case any of you are still living in the past, the Bucs have said goodbye to RB Charlie Garner. It is highly unlikely that he will catch on somewhere else, and his career could be at the end.

Vikings Kicker Battle Seems To Be Over

With the injury to K Aaron Elling a bit owrse than originall expected, and K Paul Edinger nailing some long FGs, it seems all but certain that Edinger will be kicking for the high powered Vikings this season.

Jaguars Kicker Battle Over

Parcells Wants The A-Train To Help Out On Special Teams

Anthony Thomas RB Dallas might be the odd man out and not on the Cowboys Final Roster. According to the Fort Worth Star-Telegram Head Coach Bill Parcells is unhappy with Thomas's inability to help out on Special Teams. This move seems highly unlikely but it is out there. Parcells wants his back up players to do more then wait for their opportunity.

Breaking News - Falcons Cut WR Price

In an unexpected move, the Falcons cut WR Peerless Price. Do not expect Price to be unemployed for long, as many teams are in need of a quality wide receiver. The Eagles for sure, and the Titans are in definite need of a wide out.

With Hc Lovie Smith stating that QB Jeff Blake and QB Kurt Kittner will be promoted to QB2 and QB3 respectively, QB Chad Hutchinson is a man with no spot and most likely will be released.

Jags Name Starting WRs

The Jaguars have named Jimmy Smith WR1 and Reggie Williams WR2 for the season opener. Rookie WR Matt Jones will serve as WR3 and see significant time.

Don't Expect Clarett To Be Unemployed For Long

As the news of RB Maurice Clarett's release spreads around the NFL, one of four teams are expected to sign the rookie RB. The teams are : Bears, Steelers, 49ers, and Eagles. All have needs and Clarett can help any one of them.

SUPERDOME MAY CAUSE PROBLEMS

As Hurricane Katrina heads north it leaves the Superdome in need of some repairs. It is much too early to know the extent of any damage but it is safe to say that the facility will cause a scheduling problem for the Saints game on Sept. 18. As for the immediate future the Saints have moved their practice facility to San Jose California.

All of this is trivial as the safety and well being of the residents of the south is the most important.

MANNING HAS MRI ON LEFT SHOULDER

ESPN is reporting that Colts QB Peyton Manning had a MRI on his left shoulder and revealed there was no damage but only a bruise. Manning hurt the shoulder August 27 v. the Denver Broncos.

FRYE ENJOYS SOLID CAMP

The Akron Beacon Journal reports that Cleveland Brown rookie QB Charlie Frye has shown poise and an ability to "feel" a pass rush as someone who has had some NFL experience.

Frye will not be rushed into action but the Browns are feeling pretty good about their QB of the future. Frye will see some game experience as the season rolls on and may even be the teams starter by the end of the season.

DOLPHIN QB SITUATION

Nick Saban today admitted he is toying with the idea of playing both AJ Feely and Gus Frerrotte on a rotation basis. While this is a fairly regular occurrance in the collegs game it has been met with little to no success in the NFL. Buddy Ryan tried it with Randall Cunnigham and Ron Jaworski and Steve Spurrier tried it with no success with Washington in the '03 season. It has always been said if a team has 2 QB's they have none and that is becoming more and more evident in Miami

BETTIS OUT AT LEAST 2 WEEKS

The results of the MRI performed on Pittsburgh Steeler RB Jerome Bettis were inconclusive due to the amount of blood and swelling in the calf. As of now Bettis will miss at the minimum 2 weeks, which leaves him out of the Steelers opening day lineup, and if things don't progress as expected Bettis may go back for another MRI. With the injury to Duce Staley and now this to Bettis ,Willie Parker will see the majority of the snaps in week 1.

The New England Patriots released QB Rohan Davey,who was the teams #2 QB last season, and RB Cedric Cobbs

BREAKING NEWS - Benson Agrees To a 5 Year Deal

For everyone who is drafting this week, here is some big news. The Bears are about to sign RB Cedric Benson to a 5 year contract. He is expected to be in camp this week.

KICKER NEWS

Pittsburgh Steeler head coach Bill Cowher is becoming frustrated with K Jeff Reed. For the second week Reed missed a field goal in the teams pre-season game as he pushed a 43 yard attempt wide left on Friday.

Aaron Elling of the Vikings will get his results from his MRI on his injured hip and his agent hopes to meet with the Vikings to figure out the status of his position with the team. Paul Edinger was a perfect 4-4 on his fielg goal attempts in the teams last pre-season game and may have won the teams K job with that performance. If that is the case the agent for Elling may seek a release so as to possibly sign with another team.

Panthers Make Cuts

The Panthers waived RB Nick Maddox, TE Chad Mustard, QB Rod Rutherford, and WRs Taylor Stubblefield and JR Tolliver.

Eagles Make Cuts, And Sign One

The Eagles released WRs Chris Samp, Jared Jones, and Isaac West, and K Jimmy Kibble.

The Eagles also signed WR Michael Gasperson.

A QB Controversy Starting In Cleveland

It is no secret that QB Charlie Frye has outplayed QB Trent Dilfer in Cleveland's mnin camp, but it is uncertain if HC Romeo Crennel will turn his team over to a rookie QB. In either case, don't be too surprised to see Frye under center at some point this season.

RB Parker Steelers' RB1

RB Willie Parker is RB1 for the Steelers right now, ahead of RB Verron Haynes. Parker will probably not even play in the team's final preseason game, leading to speculation that Parker will probably be the starter on opening day if RB Jerome Bettis is unable to play. RB Duce Staley is out until at least October.

Miami QB Situation Remains Unclear

As the regular season and numerous fantasy drafts loom, there is no clear cut starter at quarterback in Miami. AJ Feeley outplayed Gus Frerotte, but it is still anyone's guess as to who will be under center on opening day.

BILLS RELEASE BACKUP RB

The Buffalo Bills have announced that backup RB ReShard Lee has been released

QB Manning Expected to Start

QB Eli Manning is expected to start in the Giants opening game. His recovery from an elbow injury is on schedule.

Packers WRs Update

The Packers received some good news regarding WRs Antonio Chatman and Javon Walker. Neither of the injuries received this weekend appeared to be serious in nature and both are expected to practice at some point this week.

CLARRETT TO BE RELEASED

The Denver Broncos have informed RB Maurice Clarrett of his impending release on Sunday. Clarrett has failed to see any playing time during the teams first three pre-season games. Clarrett was a longshot to be a contributor to the Broncos this season and by releasing him this early without him seeing any playing time the team all but admits it made a mistake in drafting Clarrett in the 3rd round.

Cowboys/Texans Game Notes

The Cowboys had a star in RB Julius Jones, and the Texans return game was stellar in Dallas' 21-9 victory over Houston in the state rivalry.

Troy Edwards Slipping Away

Troy Edwards WR Jacksonville has already fell behind rookie Matt Jones for the # 3 spot. According to the Florida Times-Union Edwards may fall behind Cortez Hankton for the final spot when roster cuts are made by Tuesday.

Anderson Looks Impressive

Mike Anderson RB Denver had an impressive showing in Saturday's pre-season contest with the Indianapolis Colts. He finished with 13 carries and 159 yards, including a 93 yard TD run. Anderson may have run his way into the # 1 RB position.

Seahawks/Chiefs Notes

Top players from the game between the Chiefs and the Seahawks, which was won by the Seahawks, 23-17: Wr Darrell Jackson and RB Larry Johnson.

Texans RB Banged Up

Texans RB Domanick Davis bruised his elbow and ankle in Saturday's game. The injuries are not thought to be serious.

Super Sleeper Looking Good

RB Willie Parker is making a cae to be the surprise of the year. He is playing well for the Steelers, and with the injuries to RBs Duce Staley and Jerome Bettis, it looks are he and RB Verron Haynes will have to shoulder the load for the immeiate future for the team. If you are drafting in a deep league this week, maybe take a chance on Parker.

Q2 For Cowboys Becoming Clearer

As the days of Cowboys camp draw to a close, it appears as though QB Tony Romo will be the backup QB on the team, forcing QB Drew Henson to QB3.

Vikings RB Notes

RB Mewelde Moore's ankle sprain is better than orginally thought, and RB Ciatrick Fason is expected back at practice this week. Moore is also expected to return at some point this week.

Jags/Jets Make Cuts

The Jaguars cut QB Nate Hybl and WR Kahlil Hill.

The Jets cut RB DeCori Birmngham and WRs Eddie Jackson and Carl Kearney.

Jets Release P Micah Knorr

The Jets released punter Micah Knorr leaving the punting duties to Australian Ben Graham this according to the AP.

Marler Fails Physical

Seth Marler K Dallas failed his physical on Saturday. Marler joined the Cowboys in a trade with Jacksonville on Friday. His failing has nullified the trade according to the Cowboys team website.

Browns WR Hurt

Brown WR Braylon Edwards hurt his left shoulder Friday, but it appears as though this injury is minor and will not require him to miss any time.

Bears Looking At QBs

The hapless Bears are currently searching for quarterbacks to fill their glaring need. Two names that are being mentioned are QBs Tommy Maddox (Steelers) and Jon Kitna (Bengals). The Steelers have a little more flexibility having WR Antwaan Randle-El, who can also serve the team as QB3, so Maddox might have a shot to be a Bear starter this season.

Could Birk's Surgery Spell Troubles For The Vikings O Line?

Not a Fantasy position but with Vikings Center Matt Birk having surgery his absence could hurt Daunte Culpepper. Stallworth A No Show In Saints Pre-season Contest

Donte Stallworth WR New Orleans did not play in the Saints pre-season game on Friday. According to the Times-Picayune when Head Coach Jim Haslett was asked by reporters why Stallworth didn't play, Haslett told them to ask Stallworth. Stallworth was not available after the game.

Fitzgerald Forced To Leave Game

Larry Fitzgerald WR Arizona was forced to leave Friday's pre-season game with a strained right knee according to the Arizona Republic. The severity of the injury has not been disclosed.

WHAT PROBLEM?

T.O. in keeping to form had a huge game for the Eagles on Friday. Seeing his first action of the pre-season T.O. had 5 receptions for 131 yards and a 64 yard TD reception on the first play of the game. T.O would not address the media after the game and although there may be some hard feelings amongst the team efforts like this will smooth things over in a hurry

Steelers RB Injured

Steelers RB Jerome Bettis injured his calf Friday night. He is scheduled for an MRI, and there is no word yet on his injury, but if you are drafting today or tomorrow, be prepared for a disappointment if you select Bettis.

Another Packer WR Injury

Packers WR Javon Walker dislocated a finger on his right hand Friday night. There is word yet on the severity of the injury.

PANTHER RECEIVER RETURNING TO FORM

WR Steve Smith of the Carolina Panthers had another solid effort as he returns from his broken leg that sidelined him for the '04 season. Smith had 3 receptions for 59yards and a 30 yard TD from Jake Delhomme. This combination seems to have picked up from where they left off after the Super Bowl season of '03.

Cardinals RB Injured

Cardinals RB JR Redmond dislocated his left shoulder Friday night. There is no word yet on the severity of the injury.

Raiders WR To Miss Several Weeks

The Raiders report that WR Doug Gabriel will be lost for quite a few weeks due to surgery on his left middle finger.

WR Hall To Miss Next Game

Chiefs WR Dante Hall will miss the teams next game to rest a sore knee. He is not expected to miss anmy regular season time.

Saints TE Done For Season

Even though he was not regarded highly in fantasy circles this season, Saints TE Boo Williams might have been drafted in large leagues. However, in the pre season game against the Ravens Friday night, Williams tore both the MCL and ACL in his right knee, and is almost assuredly out for the 2005 season. This should effectively put a stay away tage on Williams in fantasy drafts, but of course, Williams' health is the main concern.

Another Sleeper Possibility

In the constant search for sleepers, Ravens RB Chester Taylor turned in 151 yards and a TD against the Saints in pre season action. He could be a decent bench players for some teams in large drafts.

A Possible Break In The Vikings K Battle

Vikings K Aaron Elling injured his hip during warmups Friday night, and K Paul Edinger assumed all kicking duties. In kicking battles, injuries can become career enders for a team, just look at Billy Cundiff. If this injury proves to be anything mildly serious, expect Elling to be released and expect Edinger to be the starter, and move up the cheat sheets.

Vikings RB Injured

Vikings RB Mewelde Moore sprained his left ankle in the game against the Chargers, but the injury is not though to be serious.

Bear/Bills Quick Hits

Observations from the Bears and Bills game:

1) Both RB Thomas Jones of the Bears and RB Willis McGahee looked good, with Jones looking excellent.

2) Bills QB JP Losman Looked lousy.

3) Bears rookie QB Kyle Orton looked good in a brief appearance. He might get the chance to start this season, and could be a deep sleeper this season.

DENVER NAMES THEIR #1 RB

The Denver Post is reporting that the Denver Broncos have named RB Mike Anderson as their starting RB.

Expect Clarett To Go On IR

Fantasy owners can fully expect to see Denver rookie RB Maurice Clarett go on the IR. The Broncos are likely to go with 4 RBs and Clarett is for sure the bottom of the barrel. The IR looks like his home for 2005.

Tyree Moves Up To 3

David Tyree WR New York Giants has passed WR Tim Carter on the depth chart to become the Giants # 3 receiver.

JAGUAR K POSITION BECOMES CLEAR

With the trade of Seth Marler to the Cowboys it now clears the way for Josh Scobee to be the teams K.

EAGLES LOOKING FOR WR

With the T.O. drama still looming and the team not completely sold on its' #2 receivers the Eagles have expressed interest in aquiring Robert Ferguson from the Packers.

DALLAS TRADES FOR KICKER

The Dallas Cowboys have aquired Seth Marler from the Jacksonville Jaguars for an undisclosed draft pick in the '06 draft.

New Demotion For Green Bay QB

It appears as though QB Aaron Rodgers has been demoted to QB3 on the Packers depth chart, behind QBs Brett Favre and Craig Nall.

News On Duce Staley

Steelers RB Duce Staley will more than likely be out until October 10th, sources close to the team reported. Fantasy owners should stay clear of Staley this season as he will probably not be at 100 percent at all in 2005.

Calico Back To Work

Titans WR Tyrone Calico returned to praactice after his latest bout with injuries, but he should be drafted cautiously as he is severely injury prone.

Terrell Owens WR Philadelphia will be in the starting lineup Friday when the Eagles take the field against the Cincinnati Bengals in Philly. This will mark the first time QB Donovan McNabb and Owens play in a game together since their verbal feud. Owens was sent home and missed the Eagles first pre-season game.

Look Here For A Good Sleeper

If you are looking for a sleeper in your drafts this week, think about WR Arnaz Battle of the 49ers. He is catching the team's attention, and is the WR3 for the team. He could find the endzone 5 times or more this season. He is worth a late round selection as most uniformed magazine drafters will not have this up to the minute information.

Stokley Has His Goal Set

Colts WR Brandon Stokley has set September 11th, the season opener against Baltimore, as the date of his return. This is good news for Stokley suitors, but one has to be wary that he might not prosper until a few games into the season. By all means draft him, but be prepared to start other for the first few weeks of the season.

The Falcons beat the Jags 23-7, but the fantasy players are the real story here at TCFS. RB Fred Taylor of the Jags said he felt good and looked good. He appears to be pretty much recovered from off season surgery. RB Warrick Dunn had a good game and looks to be RB1 on the Falcons. And the Jags WR Matt Jones looked like he is WR3 material with a solid performance. All three look like solid fantasy picks this season. On a side not, Falcons WR Dez White sprained his knee in the game, but the injury is not expected to be serious.

Titans Release WR

The Titans have released WR Earvin Johnson.

Lions Sign QB

The Lions have signed rookie free agent QB Timmy Chang, who was last in the Cardinals camp. He is expected to compete for the QB3 job for the club.

Fight For RB3 On Rams

The Rams report that there is a dogfight between RBs Arlen Harris and Aveion Cason for the RB3 spot on the team behind RBs Stephen Jackson and Marshall Faulk.

The Bears have released WR Derrick Abney.

Chargers WR Returns To Practice

Chargers WR Vincent Jackson returned to practice yesterday after missing over a week with an achilles injury. He is expected to be brought along slowly.

Un-signed Chicago Bear RB Cedric Benson and the team have talked face to face to try and iron out a contract. If the Team would up it's "Final Offer" buy a few more dollars then Benson and the team could both look like winners. It is a good sign that both sides are talking and we expect to see Benson signed fairly soon.

Browns RB Sidelined

Browns RB Lee Suggs will miss the remainder of the preseason with an ankle sprain. This is good news for RBs Reuben Droughns and William Green, who get the chance to showcase their worth to the team.

Colts QB Placed On Injured Reserve

The Colts placed QB Travis Brown on injured reserve, sidelining him for the 2005 season. The move will make QB Jim Sorgi QB2 for the Colts and creates a roster spot for QB Tom Arth for now. The Colts are currently looking for a veteran QB to fill the slot.

NFL Kicker News

The Vikings have reported that there is no clear front runner in their kicker battle between Ks Aaron Elling and Paul Edinger. Both are running in a dead heat right now.

Additionally, the Cowboys report that K Jose Cortez is currently the kicker for the team, although they did not rule out acquiring another kicker before the start of the season.

Seahawks RB Injured

Seahawks RB Dante Brown will miss six to eight weeks with an injured shoulder.

The Cowboys have released K Billy Cundiff (Reported By Jon Simonis of TCFS today). In addition, the Cowboys released FB Damien Barnes and WR Ahmad Merritt.

QB2 For Giants Quite Clear

The backup QB for the Giants is right now Tim Hasselbeck. He has outplayed the bachelor, Jesse Palmer, and have forced Palmer to QB3. It is unknown at this point if Palmer will even make the team.

Ravens Stars Doubtful For Team's Next Game

The Ravens more than likely will be without the help of RB Jamal Lewis and TE Todd Heap for their next game, as they recover from injuries.

More Steelers RB News

In addition to the problems that RB Duce Staley is having, there is some fierce competition going on for the 3rd down RB spot for the Steelers, behind starter RB Jerome Bettis. The two combatants are RBs Verron Haynes and RB Willie Parker. It is unknown who has the edge in this battle, but we at TCFS think that RB Willie Parker is a super sleeper this season.

How Long Will Staley Be Out?

With RB Duce Staley recovering from knee surgery, his return to the Steelers is unknown. He will certainly miss the first week of the season, and will probably miss Week 2 as well.

Who Will Be QB3 For Steelers?

With the battle for QB3 on the Steelers between QBs Brian St. Pierre and Charlie Batch, another name has emerged that could allow the team to release both players: WR Antwaan Randle-El. He has the ability to serve as a QB3 and could save a roster spot for the team. It is unknown right now if the Steelers are leaning in that direction or not.

Eagles RB News

With the loss of RB Correll Buckhalter, the Eagles have been looking at options, with two more being unearthed today. They are considering bringing back RB Dorsey Levens, who retired last season, and giving the ball more to RB Ryan Moats. Moats has the build of RB Brian Westbrook, so the team could be leaning toward Levens.

CUNDIFF TO BE RELEASED

As it was reported yesterday K Billy Cundiff's career as a Dallas Cowboy will come to an end at 4pm today. The Cowboys have decided to go with Jose Cortez as their K. Expect Cundiff to get a look from the Chiefs who are not too enthused with Lawrence Tynes.

Seahawks Sign RB

The Seahawks have signed RB Josh Scobey to their roster. He is expected to help on special teams and provide depth to the team's RBs.

Titans To Sign New Kicker

Apparently not overly impressed with Ks Ola Kimrin and Rob Bironas, the Titans tried out three kickers yesterday. Although Ks Steve Christie, Wade Richey, and Jay Taylor all tried out, only Taylor stayed in Tennessee. Taylor is expected to be with the team a a day or two.

Dolphins Starter More Clear

It certainly appear as though, if things stay the same in Miami, that QB Gus Frerotte will be the starter in Week 1. Neither he nor QB AJ Feeley have shown much in the way of standing out over the other, so the job might just go to the best caretaker.

Bills Cut WR

The Bills have cut WR Will Peoples, in a move that has no fantasy consequence.

New RB1 For Panthers?

In a surprising move, RB Stephen Davis practiced with the first team in practice. He will probably be no higher than a RB2 this season, but the situation is worth keeping an eye on.

The Dolphins are actively shopping RB Lamar Gordon, who could help a number of teams. Additionally, the Dolphins are reportedly interested in super athlete rookie QB Adrian McPherson, who is in danger of being cut from the Saints.

Other Potential Eagles Enter The Fold

There looks to be a K battle brewing in the Big D and incumbant Billy Cundiff may end up on the outside looking in. Jose Cortez was a perfect 3 for 3 on his Field Goal attempts but more importantly showed a strong leg on his kickoffs sending many into the endzone. WR Patten Creeping Up Charts

Wr David Patten is creeping up the cheat sheets while having a real nice preseason for the Redskins. He seems to be having a good repoire with QB Patrick Ramsay.

RB Taylor To Play Against Falcons

Jaguars RB Fred Taylor will play against the Falcons this week, but will sit out the final preseason game against the Cowboys to keep him away from playing on turf.

Rams TE Injured

Rams TE Roland Williams injured his knee during the Chargers game. His status is unknown, but the prognosis is never good for knee injuries to veteran TEs. Keep an eye on this since Williams was expected to be a pass catching TE for the Rams.

Jets, Steelers Make Cuts

The Jets cut veteran WR Jonathan Carter and the Steelers cut WR Sam Simmons and RB Chad Scott. Look for a team (Seahawks, Eagles) to scoop up Carter though.

Two More Sleepers To Consider

If you are in the last round and you already have two Ks and two Ds and are looking for a sleeper RB to finish out the draft, look at the Steelers RB Willie Parker and the Texans rookie RB Vernand Morency. Both are making noise in their camps and could end up with some good playing time if the ball bounces in their direction this season.

Panthers RB Returns

Panthers RB Stephen Davis finally returned to practice Monday after a nine month hiatus from football due to a fractured knee. He could be a deep sleeper in large leagues.

Looking For A Sleeper? Try This Guy

If you are drafting a fantasy team this week and are looking for a sleeper that not many people will think of, take a chance on WR Samie Parker of the Chiefs. He is quietly making noise in camp, and the Chiefs always put up points. He could grab some significant TDs as the Chiefs WR2.

Bears RB News

As fantasy drafts approach, there seems to be little stability in the Bears running game. The Cedric Benson situation is getting ugly, and RB Thomas Jones is slowly creeping up the cheat sheets. If you are around pick 120 in your draft and are looking toward a RB, you have a choice: take the sure thing in Jones, or take a gamble on Benson. The answer is not simple. Either guy will be a backup on your team, so TCFS says, look for a home run, especially in keeper leagues, and grab Benson. He might sign quick and be a stud by season's end. There's a lot of ifs in the Windy City, so the best advice should be to stay away from Chicago RBs.

HUTCHINSON TERRIBLE IN FIRST START

The Chad Hutchinson ERA got off to a terrible start in his first start since Rex Grossman was lost. Chad was 5-8 for 40 yards but threw 2 untimely INT's. A creer under 70 QB rating Hutchinson cannot be considered the QB of the future for the Bears. Kyle Orton may get his chance a lot sooner than expected and he has a chip on shoulder since he fell so late in the draft to prove all the other teams wrong. Fantasy owners should stay clear of this situation.

SPROLES CONTRIBUTES IN MANY WAYS

The San Diego Chargers are finding many different ways to get rookie RB Darren Sproles the ball. In Sunday's pre-season game Sproles accounted for 131 total yards:2 pass receptions for23 yards..3 rushing attempts for 21 yards...3 punt returns for19 yards and finally 3 kick off returns for 65 yards. Sproles will be a solid larte round selection in deep leagues... Sproles is a very talented and athletic player and the Chargers are trying to utilize all his skills in any way they can.

Cowboys K Injured

After a tough season in '04 filled with injuries the Titans finally got some good news. Tyrone Calico will finally make his pre-season debut on Friday vs. the 49ers and the toe injury that has been hampering Travis Henry is not considered serious and the team is expecting Henry to be back at practice sometime this week.

The Broncos may use a double team of RBs this season. Both RBs Tatum Bell and Mike Anderson have played well enough to be starters, and due to that fact the team may use a combination of the two RBs this year.

Dolphins QB News

Dolphins QB Gus Frerotte is certainly not winning the job from QB AJ Feeley. They both are terrible. So terrible, in fact, that the team may look to QB Tim Couch for help. Expect another long season for the Dolphins.

It appears as though, barring a trade, that Eagles rookie WR Reggie Brown will be WR2 for the team.

Bucs Kickers Still In A Dead Heat

If you are drafting in a deep league this week, good luck when looking for a backup kicker at the end of the draft. Reports from the Bus are that K's Matt Bryant and Todd France are still even. There is no report that either K has an edge over the other.

Bears Need A QB Badly

After QB Chad Hutchinson's poor showing in the Bears' last preseason game, the team is almost pushed into making a move for another veteran QB or giving up the season and letting rookie QB Kyle Orton take his lumps. Either way, Bears fans will probably be disappointed in their team this year.

Giants QB Job In Danger

Reports from the Giants camp state that QB Jesse Palmer's job is in danger. The team likes QB Tim Hasselbeck, and they have reportedly been looking at free agent QB Tim Couch as a backup to QB Eli Manning. If Couch signs and plays decent, the team will probably say goodbye to Palmer, the bachelor.

PLUMMER SPEAKS OUT

The fight for the Broncos #1 RB is down to Tatum Bell and Mike Anderson and if QB Jake Plummer's vote means anything he favors Mike Anderson. Anderson is a bigger back that is also a more polished blocker and Plummer feels a little more comfortable with him in the backfield.
