Where will Keyshaun Land?

Speculation as to where free agent wideout Keyshaun Johnson will end up is running rampant, with various reports having him striking a deal with the Seattle Seahawks (who lost Joe Jurevicius) and the Carolina Panthers (who need someone opposite Steve Smith). But the name that seems to be coming from Keyshaun's camp is the New England Patriots. Although this may seem as a bit of a surprise, Johnson and Patriot head coach Bill Belichick have a great mutual respect for each other and the Patriots are in desperate need of an experienced receiver. As for Keyshaun's reputation as a "me first" type of player, just look no further than running back Corey Dillon. Labeled as selfish coming from Cincinnati, he's been nothing but a consumate pro and team player, despite a minor riff with the local media last season. Keyshaun to the Pats? Not as far fetched as it may sound.

They also have just signed former Pittsburg Steeler defensive end Kimo van Oelhoffen to a more cap friendly deal than what it will cost to keep Abraham around. Jets have plans for Kitna

The New York Jets have got Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Jon Kitna on their radar should he become a free agent (as expected) on March 6th. He would fit the bill as an experienced veteran to bridge the gap until the team's quarterback of the future (Matt Leinart, Jay Cutler?) is ready to take over. He could step right in as the starter.. and come to town at the right price.

Blazing Fast WRs

Chad Jackson of Florida ran the 40 in 4.36, the fastest of all WRs at the NFL Combine. There were some other fast WR prospects in Indianapolis, including:

Willie Reid of Florida State, 4.37
Jeff Webb of San Diego State, 4.41
Sinorice Moss of Miami (FL), 4.43
Will Blackmon of Boston College, 4.45.

All will undoubtedly be drafted at some point in the NFL Draft in April.

Speedy Rookie QBs

A few QBs really shined at the NFL Combine, and there really were some speedy QBs to come out of Indianapolis.

Texas A&M QB Reggie McNeal turned in a 4.37 40 time. If he does not make it at QB in the NFL, he could surely be on a team's roster as a Wide Receiver or a Special Teamer.

Brad Smith of Missouri ran the 40 in 4.53. Brad Gradkowski of Toledo ran the 40 in 4.62 seconds, and incidentally, there are nore than one person that thinks Gradkowski is reminiscent of Steelers QB Ben Roethlisberger. Gradkowski's stock appeared to have risen as a result of the NFL Combine.

Two other QBs of note turned in some pretty fast 40 times. Vanderbilt QB Jay Cutler ran the 40 in 4.78 and Alabama QB Brodie Croyle turned in a 4.84 40. Cutler is a sure fire 1st round pick, and Croyle will be a late 1st rounder or a 2nd round pick almost certainly.
