Lions Ink WR

The Detroit Lions have signed FA to be WR Mike Furrey to a 3 yr. contract.Furrey a converted DB who followed Mike Martz to Detroit led the NFC in receptions with 98. Furrey also had 6 TD receptions finally giving the Lions a reliable #2 receiver behind Roy Williams.

Raiders Hire A HC

The Oakland Raiders have finally found someone to say "YES" to their HC position hiring USC offensive co-ordinator Lane Kiffin in hopes of resurrecting the franchise. Kiffin now becomes the youngest HC in the league at 31 only 2 years older than Randy Moss who he needs to get into his corner as quickly as possible.

-Expect the Ravens to make a move in regards to RB Jamal Lewis in the couple of weeks following the Super Bowl. If Lewis is on the roster as of March 1 he receives a 5 million dollar bonus so the team may look to release him outright if negotiations stall.

-Seahawk QB Matt Hasselback has been playing with a broken finger on his non-throwing hand for the past 8 weeks and will have it taken care to be ready for mini camps.

-Robbie Gould now holds the longest FG in Bear history after his GW 49 yard effort on Sunday breaking Kevin Butlers 46 yarder during the '88 season.

-Cowboy K Martin Gramatica is scheduled to become a FA but expect the team to offer him a deal

-IDP Rodney Harrison is expected to play for the Patriots v. the Colts on Sunday.

-Since 1970 home teams hold a 47-25 record in Conference Championship games.

Plummer Gone, But To Where?

Broncos QB Jake Plummer has told friends and family that he will not be back with the Broncos in 2007, but where will he go. There is speculation that he will go to either the Raiders or Vikings, but there is just as much speculation that Plummer will retire. At 31, Plummer is too young to hang them up and will find suitable employment somewhere.

There is now 3 head coaching vacancies in the NFL as Dolphin HC Nick Saban has decided to head back to the college ranks and accept the HC position at Alabama.The deal is worth a reported 32 million over 4 years.

Vikings QB News

Vikings QB Brad Johnson is expected to be released soon, leaving , at this point, QBs Tavaris Jackson and Brooks Bollinger to fight for the QB1 job in Minnesota. Expect the Vikings to realize the neither of these QBs are the answer and they will more than likely upgrade the position in the off season.
