The Seahawks expect Shaun Alexander to be ready for Sunday although the amount of playing time he will get is still to be determined.

Chicago Bears running back Cedric Benson could be done for the season after suffering a lower leg injury during the Bears 37-34 OT victory on Sunday. A complete fanatsy flop this year, Benson will be replaced by the other Adrian Peterson.

Reports out of Miami have stated that Dolphins running back Ricky Williams is out for the season after tearing a pectoral muscle in his NFL return last night in Pittsburgh. Williams finished with 6 carries for 15 yards and a fumble.

Carney in, Rayner out

The Kansas City Chiefs parted ways with inconsistant kicker Dave Rayner and signed 19 year veteran John Carney. Carney had been kicking for Jacksonville, but was released hen the Jaguars regular kicker, Josh Scobee, recovered from an injury. Carney was 9 of 11 in field goals in eight games for Jacksonville.

Bills Switch Back To Edwards

The QB carousel in Buffalo continues as Trent Edwards has been named the starting QB for this weeks game v. the Redskins. JP Losman's on one game off the next performances played a major role in the decision as did the Bills recent 2 game losing streak that may have the team already looking forward to next season. Expect Edwards to get a solid look over the final 5 games to help determine if he is the QB of the future or whether the team needs to explore other options heading into the off season.

Giant RB Brandon Jacobs has been limited with a hamstring injury.With backup Derrick Ward also dealing with his own injuries Rueben Droughns is likely to earn the start.

Don't expect much from Raven TE Todd Heap who is still dealing with a hamstring problem and has been limited in practice.Given the production of Heap over the last few games the chances of him producing any significant numbers are slim.

Buc RB Michael Pittman has missed the entire week of practice with an ankle injury. Michael Bennett will be the primary backup to Earnest Graham.

Both 49er RB Frank Gore (ankle) and Seahawk WR DJ Hackett(Knee) are both expected to be in their teams starting lineups this week

It appears very doubtful that KC Chief RB Larry Johnson will be in the lineup this week v. the Broncos.Johnson did have an MRI on his injured foot but the team is releasing very little details except to say that Johnson has a severely sprained foot.The injury not only puts in doubt this weeks game but could cause Johnson to miss additional time as well. In his absense RB Priest Holmes will get his first start in almost 3 years and will be backed up by unproven rookie Kolby Smith.

It looks like Ravens Te Todd Heap will be OUT for their Week 9 game.

Monday Night Quick Hits

FA WR Mike Williams is scheduled to visit with the Titans this week. Tennessee seems to be the best chance Williams has to play again this year.

If you have a shot to pick up Raiders RB Justin Fargas in your fantasy league, grab him, as he was named the Raiders RB1.

Expect to see Texans WR Andre Johnson back in the lineup by Week 11.

Bengals WR Chad Johnson has a sprained neck but should be ready to play in Week 10. He probably won't be totally effective though and another option should be looked at.

The Bengals have activated WR Chirs Henry from the PUP List, and should be picked up in most leagues.

The Cowboys have placed FB Deon Anderson on the injured reserve list, ending his season.

Falcons QB Byron Leftwich is out for Week 10. QB Joey Harrington gets the start again for the Falcons in Week 10.

The Patriots appear to be satisfied with their RB corps so far this season, and do not look to be interested in RB Corey Dillon.

It appears as though 49ers RB Frank Gore will be out for Week 10, but the Niners play on Monday Night, so it gives Gore an extra day to rest.

A New Starter For Panthers?

There is no question that QB David Carr is not healthy, and neither is QB Vinny Testaverde. With QB Matt Moore as the only healthy QB on the team's roster, it would not be a stretch to think that Moore would not be the Week 10 starting QB.

As of now, it appears as though Broncos QB Jay Cutler has a hairline fracture in his leg, which would sideline him for a few weeks. Cutler owners might want to grab QB Patrick Ramsay, as he would step in as the starter if Cutler does indeed have a broken leg.

Jackson News

Vikings QB Tavaris Jackson left the Week 9 game with a concussion. He was replaced by Brooks Bollinger. With QB Kelly Holcomb also hurt, it is unknown at this time who will start for the Vikes in Week 10.

RBs Injured In Week 9

Packers RB Ryan Grant possibly suffered a concussion on Sunday and is scheduled for an MRI. If he misses time, he wil be replaced by RB Brandon Jackson.

Seahawks Rb Shaun Alexander hurt his knee and was replaced by RB Maurice Morris. He might miss some time as a result of this injury.

Players In Doubt For Week 10

Bengals WR Chad Johnson seemed to escape serious injury and was on the team flight after being released from a Buffalo hospital following a cart ride off the field on Sunday.

Raiders RB Situation

Raiders RB Justin Fargas is now #1 on the RB Depth Chart. RB LaMont Jordan is the clear RB2, and RB Dominic Rhodes is not even on the radar at this point.

Dillon Wants To Play In '07

With the season ending loss of backup RB Sammy Morriss and the health issues of Laurence Maroney the Patriots are believed to be in the market far another RB. Recently retired RB Cory Dillon is said to be training and looking to join a playoff contentending club at some point in the near future. Dillon knows the Patriot's offense and would need little time to get ready for some playing time. As in '06 Dillon's role would be one of short yardage and goal line situations and would give the Patriots some insurance in the event of Maroney re-injuring himself.
