With the news of QB Jon Kitna's severely sprained knee, there are reports circling that QB Drew Stanton will be the Lions QB going forward.
As the picture looks worse for Tom Brady, the Patriots will bring in QB Chris Simms for a workout tomorrow.
It looks like Packers QB Brett Favre will be dealt to the Buccaneers as early as Wednesday. Favre gave an OK for a trade to the Bucs.
Who knows what is going on with Brett Favre, but if he decides to make a comeback, expect him under center for the Panthers, Dolphins or Buccaneers.
FA RB Najeh Davenport has stated that he would like to play for the Browns, Lions or Cardinals. There is no word yet as to whether any negotiations have taken place.
The Chargers are looking into the possibility of trading WR Eric Parker. The Browns are one team who may be interested, but his injury status could hurt the Chargers of getting anything of worth for him in return.
While both FA RBs Ron Dayne and Kevin Jones sit idly this spring, there are many teams that have brought both of them in for workouts. Both say they have received offers, but none are what they are looking for. Jones still has some value as a feature back, and Dayne could be useful as a RB2/Goalline Back. Expect both to be in uniform by the start of the season.
With an open competition for the Bears starting QB, we at EFF would like to see QB Kyle Orton beat out QB Rex Grossman. But, if anyone needs to use either of these QBs, your fantasy team would be in serious trouble.
If your league allows you more than 4 RB slots, take a chance on RB Kevin Jones. Jones, a free agent, has looked good thusfar and will probably be a tailback for someone this season.
Early indications are that QB Josh McCown will start the season as the Dolphins' QB1.
The Lions, Rams, and Broncos are all interested in FA RB Michael Pittman.
The Buccaneers still remain interested in free agent WRs Bryant Johnson, Drew Carter, and Justin McCareins.
The Bucs and Titans are also reportedly interested in FA RB Warrick Dunn.
There is early speculation that the Jets will begin the 2008 season with QB Chad Pennington as their QB1.

The Falcons are bringing in TE Ben Hartsock for an interview.
There are rumors floting around the NFL that QB Cleo Lemon is being courted by the Vikings.
The Rams may have to cut WR Isaac Bruce, but the team is leading toward restructuring his contract.
Early reports coming in state that FA WR Muhsin Muhammad will return to the Panthers. He certainly is a better compliment to WR Steve Smith than what the Panthers currently have.
In addition to the Panthers, the Bucs, Colts and the Saints are reported to be interested in FA TE Alge Crumpler.
As of now it appears as though the Panthers will make a big push to sign FA TE Alge Crumpler.
There are a number of teams reportedly interested in FA Marty Booker are the Patriots, Vikings, Cowboys and Titans.
Just in case you have Bucs RB Cadillac Williams on your radar screen, think again, as Williams is not expected to be back into NFL shape until mid season, and he probably will not be of any use to fantasy teams in 2008.
As of now, it appears as though Panthers QB David Carr and RB DeShaun Foster will be among the cuts made by the team in the coming days. This news comes as good news for RB DeAngelo Williams holders.
The 49ers have signed QB Shaun Hill to a three year contract.
Free Agent QB Daunte Culpepper want to play for the Dolphins, in the area where he lives. He will have to play for the league minimum though, and will be nothing more than a backup for the Phins.
The Cowboys are reportedly interested in Arkansas RB Darren McFadden, but it is amost a lock that the Falcons will take McFadden with the #3 pick.
As of right now, it appears as though Packers QB Brett Favre will be back for another season next year.
Steelers RB Dan Krieder and Titans RB Chris Brown are said to e headed to free agency. Krieder could become a Cardinals, but it is unknown where if anywhere Brown will land.
Bills QB JP Losman has asked to be traded, and the Bills seem likely to try and trade him in the off season.
The Titans are expected to sign WR Mike Williams in the coming days.
The Jets will reportedly trade QB Chad Pennington in the off season. This could be a good move for Pennington, who seems to have worn out his welcome in New York.
The Cardinals are expected to sign QB Tim Hasselbeck within the next couple of days to serve as the team's QB3.
The Redskins are reported to be in the market for WR Doug Gabriel, recently released by the Raiders.
A fantasy steal for 2007 could be Patriots RB Sammy Morris. He could be given the opportunity to become the team's Goal Line RB. He could be a late round steal for some deep fantasy leagues.
It looks more and more that Qb Michael Vick will not play football in 2007, and the Falcons are exhausting all avenues to get another veteran QB in camp. The team uhas been reported to be interested in Redskins QB Mark Brunell and retired QB Jake Plummer.
The Lions signed WR Calvin Johnson to a six-year contract, which includes $27.2 million in guaranteed money. The contract could be worthas much as $64 million with incentives.
Just released quarterback Daunte Culpepper should find employment soon, and will have at least two or three teams interested in his services. With Michael Vick's legal troubles, Atlanta is one possibility, although both Vick and backup Joey Harrington had great minicamps under new coach Bobby Petrino. Another possibility is St. Louis, where head coach Scott Linehan was Culpepper's offensive coordinator while in Minnesota. With Marc Bulger in the final year of his contract, it could be a good fit for Daunte. The most likely scenerio would be for Culpepper to sign with the Jacksonville Jaguars. Byron Leftwich is also in the last year of his contract, and his injury past and lack of mobility make him a lame duck starter. Plus, Culpepper's head coach from Minnesota, Mike Tice, is an assistant with the Jaguars.
Looking for a long shot sleeper to take up a WR5 or WR6 spot on your fantasy team? Try plugging in the name of Marcus Maxwell, WR, SF in that slot. He currently leads NFL Europa in TD receptions with 7.
FA QB Drew Bledsoe may become the QB2 for the Saints, backing up QB1 Drew Brees. It is unclear though if Bledsoe will accept a backup role.
The current Bucs depth chart lists Jeff Garcia as QB1, Bruce Gradkowski as QB2 and Chris Simms as QB3. The QB2 and QB3 will probably switch at some point this summer, but it is widely speculated that Jeff Garcia will be under center for the Bucs on Week 1.
FA WR Keenan McCardell may be heading to the Texans. The team has expressed in tered in him, and a spot could be his for the right price.
Tampa Bay Buccanneers head coach Jon Gruden has let it be known that the starting quarterback job is his to lose, as he far outshown his two competitors for the position, Chris Simms and Bruce Gradkowski. With Gruden's job on the line, he needs a veteran like Garcia to help him get wins and save his job. If Garcia does end up the starter, he'll put up decent fantasy numbers (23 touchdowns, 3100 yards), but the receiving corps and running game need to step up to make him a truly effective quarterback.
The WR2 job for the Texans will reportedly come down to WRs Andre Davis and Kevin Walter.
Dolphins RB Ricky Williams has tested positive for marijuana and will not be able to allpy for reinstatement to the NFL until September. He should remain effectively off of everyone's radar screen for 2007 and beyond.
The Raiders have been using QB Josh McCown as the QB1 right now, and they are reported as planning on using him as their team's starter in Week 1. We here at EFF though. believe that the Raiders QB1 for Week 1 will be JaMarcus Russell.
The Titans and the Raiders are the two teams listed as front runners to sign FA WR Keyshawn Johnson.
The Packers, Titans, Giants, Eagles and Chargers have all expressed interest in signing FA WR Keyshawn Johnson.
The Panthers have released WR Keyshawn Johnson. Teams are already lining up to sign him though, with the Titans as the frontrunners.
One interesting move has Cleveland trading WR Braylon Edwards and the #3 pick to the Raiders for the #1 pick.

The 49ers might be close to acquiring WR Darrell Jackson (Seahawks).
WR Marty Booker could be involved in a trade between the Dolphins and the Chiefs for QB Trent Green.
The Titans are looking at acquiring RB Michael Turner (Chargers) and WR Mike Williams (Lions).
All experts are stating that the Raiders will trade WR Randy Moss before the end of Saturday. The Packers and the Patriots are certain possibilities.

The Giants are expected to sign QB Anthony Wright to a 2 year contract as early as next week.
The Saints have released K John Carney, with the new arrival of Olindo Mare, the services of Carney were no longer needed. But rest assured, that Carney will surface somewhere else in the future.
The Falcons traded QB Matt Schaub to the Texans for a swap of 1st round picks in the 2007 draft, and 2nd round picks in 2007 and 2008.
The Broncos have signed WR Brandon Stokley (Colts) to a one year contract.
The Vikings have signed QB Drew Henson to a one year contract at the league minimum salary..
The Eagles signed WR Kevin Curtis (Rams) to a 6 year, 32 million dollar contract. Curtis should become a starter and find the end zone a number of times in 2007.
The Titans have signed WR Justin Gage (Bears) to a contract. He should see a little time, and might see a few TDs playing for the Titans.
The teams most likely to sign RB Chris Brown are the Bills or the Lion, with the Bills as the most likely choice.
The Dolphins have signed FB Cory Schlesinger (Lions) to a 2 year contract.
The Patriots have signed WR Kelly Washington to a five year contract. He could possibly revive his career in New England.
The Lions have signed WR Shaun McDonald to a two year contract. He will probably be the team's WR3 and find the end zone 3 or 4 times in 2007.
The Seahawks have signed TE Marcus Pollard to a one year contract.
The Patriots have signed WR Donte Stallworth to a 6 year, 30 million dollar contract.
FVI - 4.5 - Stallworth proved last year that he can play, and now with the Patriots he is certainly the best on that team. He will for sure be the team's WR1, and having Tom Brady throw to him should bring Stallworth to elite status and get him into the 1st or 2nd round in most fantasy drafts.
The Lions have signed RB TJ Duckett to a one year contract. This should be an interesting scene, as most of the time it is in Detroit. The Lions now have Kevin Jones, Tatum Bell, and TJ Duckett under contract.
The Raiders have signed FB Justin Griffith to a three year contract. The Raiders have also signed TE Fred Wakefield.
The Raiders have re-signed WR Alvis Whitted and also are courting FB Justin Griffith. Also, as expected, the Raiders have signed TE Tony Stewart.
It sure appears as though the Olindo Mare era has come to an end in South Florida, as the Dolphins have signed K Jay Feely (Giants) to a three year contract.
The Ealges have signed WR Bethel Johnson, formerly of the Patriots and Saints.
The Browns have traded RB Reuben Droughns to the Giants for WR Tim Carter. It surely appears as though the Giants got the better of this deal, but it remains to be seen as to what capacity Carter will fill for the Browns.
The Ravens have acquired RB Willis McGahee from the Bills for a 3rd and 7th round pick in 2007 and a 3rd round pick in 2008. Additionally, the Ravens signed McGahee to a 7 year contract.
FVI - 5 - McGahee if he stays healthy will be a certain upgrade over departed RB Jamal Lewis.
The Rams have signed TE Randy McMichael (Colts) to a 3 year contract.
The Raiders have signed RB Dominic Rhodes (Colts) to a 2 year contract.
Since his realease from the Patriots, RB Corey Dillon has been busy, setting up meetings. It appears as though there are a few teams that think that Dillon has something left, although he did look a step slower in the playoffs in 2006. The teams that are interested in Dillon's services are the Ravens, Eagles and Jets. The Jets are probably not that much interested, though, after trading for RB Thomas Jones. The Eagles certainly would have Dillon listed as RB2, behind RB Brian Westbrook. The best situation for Dillon right now would be the Ravens, as RB Jamal Lewis signed with the Browns and that would pose a perfect situation for Dillon to assume the RB1 role.
The Lions have cut TE Marcus Pollard, and the Patriots signed TE Kyle Brady (Jags) to a two year contract.
The Falcons have signed 35 year old WR Joe Horn. He should step right into the starting lineup, and the outspoken Horn should fit right in on the Falcons.
FVI - 3 - Horn is a bit long in the tooth but he can still catch and run. He should produce some TDs if QB Michael Vick decides to throw the ball more rather than rushing for 1000 yards.
The Browns have signed RB Jamal Lewis to a contract. Terms were not disclosed.
FVI - 4.5 - Although Lewis has lost a step, he is much better than anything the Browns have at RB and will for sure become the team's RB1. He is worth a shot in some keeper leagues and should be on everyone's radar in fantasy drafts.
The Rams have sign RB Travis Minor (Dolphins) to a one year contract.
The Broncos are expected to sign QB Patrick Ramsay (Jets) to a 2 year contract shortly.
The Chargers have re-signed WR Malcolm Floyd.
The Lions have re-signed RB Aveion Cason.
The Saints have signed TE Eric Johnson (49ers) to a one year contract.
The Redskins have released K John Hall.
The Packers have released FB William Henderson.
The Bucs have signed QB Jeff Garcia, and have also acquired the rights to the retired QB Jake Plummer. The Bucs QB situation is in flux and should be an interesting off season once again for the Bucs.
The Broncos have signed TE Daniel Graham (Patriots) to a 5 year, 30 million dollar contract. He is a shoo in to be the team's TE1 for 2007. Graham should be a fantasy stud TE, given QB Jay Cutler's youth and inexperience.
The Rams have signed WR Drew Bennett to a 6 year contract, which will put him at a WR2 or WR3 status for 2007.
The Vikings have signed WR Bobby Wade (Titans) to a 5 year, 15 million dollar contract.
Here is a great recap of the free agency period, courtest of Adam Schefter and NFL.com. CLICK HERE
The Jags have signed WR Dennis Northcutt to a 5 year contract.
The 49ers have signed WR Ashlie Lelie to a 2 year, 4.3 million dollar contract.
The Texans have signed RB Ahman Green.
FVI - 4 - It sure appears as though the writing is on the wall for RB Domanick Williams (Davis). Green should be the team's RB1 if he can stay free of injury.
The Jets acquired RB Thomas Jones and a 2nd round pick from the Bears for a 2nd round pick.
The Dolphins have signed FA TE David Martin (GB) to a contract. Terms were not disclosed.
The Broncos have signed FB Paul Smith to a 3 year contract.

The Dolphins cut TE Randy McMichael and QB Joey Harrington.
RB Travis Henry signed a 5 year, 12 million dollar deal with the Broncos.
RB Justin Griffith - Bucs, Eagles, Patriots.
WR Kevin Curtis, WR Drew Bennett, TE Visanthe Shiancoe - Vikings
TE Daniel Graham - Broncos, Raiders, Vikings
WR Ashlie Lelie - Texans, Dolphins.
The Texans and Bucs are reportedly very interested in acquiring QB Jake Plummer, with the Texans looking to make him QB1 and the Bucs looking at him as QB2.
Meanwhile, the Browns and Vikings are reportedly interested in acquiring the services of QB David Carr.
FA RB Dominic Rhodes has set up a meeting with the Giants.
Thne Lions have acquired RB Tatum Bell from the Broncos, also included in the deal were T George Foster and CB Dre Bly.
The Saints have released WR Joe Horn, but both sides still hope to re-sign him.
The Chargers have released WR Keenan McCardell. He could prossibly cathc on with another team in 2007, but his fantasy value will probably be nil.
The Cowboys have released QB Drew Bledsoe in a move that should save them about 6 million dollars against the salary cap. We here at EFF suspect that Bledsoe's career is over in the NFL, or at least in the fantasy world.
Although QB Jeff Garcia is tops on the Broncos QB list, they also might be interested in QBs Brad Johnson, Anthony Wright, and Joey Harrington.
The Bucs are expected to re-sign FB Mike Alstott, possibly as early as today.
It appears as though Patriots TE Daniel Graham is a hot prospect in free agency, with the Vikings and Bronco, along with the Bengals.
The Jaguars, in the market for a slot WR, will look at WRs Kevin Curtis and Dennis Northcutt to fill that void.
As the free agent season is about to begin, the Vikings are reported to be interested in WR Ashlie and the Bengals are looking hard at TE Daniel Graham.
The Raiders have declined to pick up the option on QB Aaron Brooks, making him a free agent and opening the door for QB JaMarcus Russell to be the Raiders #1 pick in the April NFL Draft.
Here is a good article from the Sporting News.com, detailing each teams needs and targets in the Free Agent Market, slated to begin on March 1. CLICK HERE
The Bucs seem to be the front runner at this point to sign soon to be free agent QB Jeff Garcia, although the prospect of him re-signing with the Eagles is also a possibility.
Patriots RB Corey Dillon is due a 4.4 million dollar cap hit for 2007, and the Patriots will probably not pay that for Dillon's services. Therefore, Dillon might be cut and be allowed to become a free agent.
RB Jamal Lewis' career appears to be over for the Ravens, who are expected to cut the former All-Pro running back.
Furute Hall of Famer and Fantasy Stud RB Tiki Barber of the Giants has filed his retirement papaers with the league and his illustrius career with the Giants has come to an end. There are many in the fantasy world, myself included, that will miss his production on the field, but we here at EFF wish him the best as he enters a new chapter of life.
In addiaiton to the Vikings, the Bucs are also reported to be in the running for soon to be Free Agent QB Jeff Garcia.
The Vikings are repoetedly planning on throwing a boatload of money at QB Jeff Garcia.
It appears as though WR Randy Moss is heading out of Oakland, and the Raiders will probably honor his request and trade him. The frontrunner for his services currently is the Packers, but stories like this change frequently so stay tuned to EFF for the latest.
The Buccaneers have signed WR David Boston to a contract, believed to be one year, but terms were not disclosed.
Packers GM Ted Thompson said today that QB Brett Favre will return to the team for his 17th season in the NFL. With even moderate success, Favre should become the NFL's leader in Touchdown passes, passing Hall of Famer Dan Marino.
The Broncos are reportedly interested in Patriots TE Daniel Graham is he becomes a free agent in 2007.
The Texans are reportedly shopping QB David Carr around the league, and the price is believed to be a 3rd round pick. There should be a few teams that would give up that price (Browns?, Vikings?) to get Carr's services.
It is rumored that FB Leonard Stephens will be the new starting FB for the Seahawks if FB Mack Strong decides to retire.
There is a chance that the Broncos could be interested in signing RB Chris Brown. His stock would certainly rise if the Broncos signed him, and that would probably the only place that the RB could revive his career.
The Panthers signed former Chiefs WR Chris Horn to a two year contract.
In a move that could spell the end of the line for K Olindo Mare and his big contract, the Dolphins inked K Matt Prater to a two year contract.
The Giants, who expect to have RB Tiki Barber retire, have shown interest in unrestricted Free Agent RB Ahman Green of the Packers.
The Seahawks have waived longtime TE Itula Mili. It is believed that Mili will retire
The Patriots have signed WR Jonathan Smith to a futures contract. It will be a certain surprise if Smith makes the 2007 Patriots squad.
The Redskins have released K Nick Novak and have promoted K Shaun Suisham to the active roster. Suisham will more than likely assume the team's kicking duties for the rest of the season.
It appears as though numerous teams will be looking to K Mike Vandetjagt for help in the final weeks of the season. One team is the Redskins, who are less than happy with K Nick Novak.
EFF Week 11 Report: Who's Hot, Who's Not, Plus Sleepers
The NFL has awarded Eagles QB Donovan McNabb with a 55 yard TD pass to Correll Buckhalter. This is good news for all McNabb owners !!
The Rams have placed RB Tony Fisher on the IR, ending his season. The Rams have also signed RB Kay-Jay Harris.
Insiders for the Bengals confirm that former Cincinnati WR Peter Warrick worked out for the team.
It looks as if QB Vince Young will be the starting QB for the Titans in Week4. QB Kerry Collins will be the QB2 and serve as insurance if the Vince Young Era ends in injury or disaster.
Its official. Seahawks RB Shaun Alexander will miss possibly at least a month with a cracked bone in his foot. Alexander owners should immediately move to sign RB Maurice Morris for the short term.
Redskins RB Clinton Portis has been ruled out of Monday's Week 1 game.
The Vikings are reportedly close to signing FA WR Quincy Morgan.
It appears as though QB Chad Pennington has wrapped up the QB1 job for the Jets, and QB Kellen Clemens has secured the QB3 job. The apparent battle is for the QB2 job, which is centered around QBs Patrick Ramsay and Brooks Bollinger. The odds on favorite to win the job is Ramsay, with Bolliner seekeng employment elsewhere before the season starts.
With doubts involving RB Curtis Martin rising up everywhere, the Jets have rumored to be interested in Lions RB Artose Pinner and Broncos RB Tatum Bell, as well as Chargers RB Michael Turner and Cardinals RB Marcel Shipp.
The Ravens are reported to be in the market for a veteran WR, and the two names that have popped up recently are WR Jerry Porter of the Raiders and Ashlie Lelie of the Broncos. Both are disgrutled with their teams and would love to be traded.
It appears as of now that QB Kellen Clemens is leading the competition to be the QB1 for the Jets. It is probably just lip service though, to light a fire under QBs Chad Pennington and Patrick Ramsay. We here at EFF seem all but certain that one of the latter QBs will win the job.
The Bengals have released QB Craig Krentzel.
FVI 0 Krentzel is no more than a backup QB, and should not be drafted in any case in any fantasy league.
Itappears as if the deal to send QB Joey Harrington from the Lions to the Dolphins is done. The trade will more than likely be announced today, and Harrington will be in Miami to serve as a backup to the oft injured QB Daunte Culpepper.
The Jaguars have reported that WR Jimmy Smith has decided to retire from the NFL.
EFF Reaction: This is quite a surprse, as Smith would have been selected in all but the smallest of fantasy drafts in 2006.
The Saints have re-signed TE Zach Hilton to a one year contract. Hilton should produce some decent TE fantasy numbers in 2006 after a relatively productive last quarter of 2005.
FVI 2 There are much worse choices than Hilton for a TE 1 or 2.
The 49ers have re-signed QB Ken Dorsey and signed K Andrew Jacas.
FVI 0 Jacas will not make the team unless he is a kickoff specialist, and Dorsey will produce negligible, if any, fantasy numbers.
There are currently three teams vying for the services of Lions QB Joey Harrington. They are Denver, Miami, and Kansas City. A deal is expected to be in place for Harrington withing the next several days.
There are reportedly three teams interested in Packers WR Javon Walker, and there is considerable speculation that there will be a deal in place for Walker before the NFL Draft on April 29-30. The Broncos, Egales and 49ers are the three teams said to be in the running for Walker, with the Broncos as the front runner. The Broncos have a plethora of draft picks and WR Ashlie Lelie available as trade bait to lure the Packers into sending Walker their way.
The Bengals have re-signed RB Kenny Watson to a one year contract.
FVI 1 Watson is a solid 3rd down back, but the majority of goalline rushes go to RB Rudi Johnson, although Watson usually catches a TD or 2 over the season.
The Dolphins have agreed on a one year contract with RB Sammy Morris.
FIV (Fantasy Impact Value) 2 if RB Ricky Williams is suspended. 1 if the Williams suspension is overturned on appeal.
The Patriots have re-signed WR David Givens, who is expected to have secured his job as WR2 for the team.
Expect to hear an announcement from the Eagles either today or tomorrow regarding the signing of TE Matt Schoebel, formerly of the Bengals.
The Vikings have signed WR Koren Robinson to a three year contract, preventing Robinson from entering the market as a free agent.
The Lions have re-signed RB Shawn Bryson to a 3 year, 4.5 million dollar contract, which includes a 1.5 million dollar signing bonus.
As free agency and the NFL Draft approach, the Patriots have produced a shopping list. This article from Jerome Solomon and the Boston Globe detail that list in this article. Click here
In addition to the Texans, Redskins, and Lions, two more teams have jumped in the hunt to land free agent WR Isaac Bruce. They are the Panthers and the Buccanneers.
Cam Inman of the Contra Costa Times has ranked the top 10 NFL free agents at each position. See where your favorite fantasy free agent ranks in this informative article. Click Here
The NFL and NFL Owners agreed on a six year extension to the Collective Bargaining Agreement yesterday. The agreement is expected to bring approximately 10 million dollars in relief to each team by increasing the salary cap by about that much.
While teams are lining up for WR Isaac Bruce, there are even more teams standing in line for WR David Givens. They include: Houston, Miami, San Francisco, Seattle, Minnesota, and Arizona. Seattle has more to offer Givens, but he would probably be more inclined to sign with the Dolphins, so that he could have two shots a year to prove to the Patriots that they made a mistake by letting him go.
Suitors are beginning to line up for free agent WR Isaac Bruce. They include: Houston, Detroit, and Washington. Houston would seem to be a solid choice for Bruce. Stay tuned to EFF for up to the minute coverage.
While free agency has not even started, it is more than likely that QB Jon Kitna will be signed by the Detroit Lions.
The Seahawks have offered contracts to free agents QB Seneca Wallace and K Josh Brown. Both are expected to sign with the club.
The Raiders are expected to release QB Kerry Collins.
The Jets are reported to be shopping around DE John Abraham. One interesting rumor has Abraham and another bunch of players/picks to the Texans for the #1 pick overall. Stay tuned to EFF to see how this plays out.
